Hug More Interview Series - Magdolna Nadj Torma
She lives and works in Bologna, Italy. She is an independent artist, printmaker and professor of art. She had numerous solo and group exhibitions all over the world, literally, and beginning this year she joined The Sketchbook Project with an aim to explore connections with herself trough her art as a medium. Family is her number one priority so we took the liberty to assume that hugs are a close second : ) Kidding aside, she has been a great support to us and a dear friend and she's most definitely a hugger! Her name is Magdolna. You can check out her art at www.magdolnanadjtorma.com <3
WHY DO YOU LIKE HUGS?
Hugs are my favorite way of showing someone how much I care for him or her. I love squeezing my dear ones, holding them tight and possibly give them one of those loud kisses. My love is loud and strong.
WITH WHO DO YOU HUG THE MOST?
With my family, when I have them close, at least. We live at different parts of the world so the hugs are not so frequent, but they are very intense and sincere.
IS THERE A ONE PARTICULAR HUG THAT YOU WOULD POINT OUT AS YOUR FAVORITE?
Mother – daughter hug. Safe, strong but gentle at the same time, worm and sweet. If I could give it a sense, it would be the one of worm sweet vanilla.
IS THERE SOMEONE YOU OWE A HUG?
I owe it to myself. I have years and years of hugs to recuperate. However, I learnt that it’s never too late to start loving yourself and when you do, the magical transformation happens.
IF YOU COULD PICK ANYONE, WHO WOULD YOU HUG?
Now, at this right moment, my dad.
AND LASTLY, GIVE US ONE DAMN GOOD REASON WHY WE SHOULD ALL HUG MORE?
Because sometimes one sincere hug is worth more than a thousand words. I know it’s a cliché, but a very true one. In todays’ world we all need more love, compassion and joy and a hug is a damn good way to share and expand all of that. So just hug more, love more and be happy every single day!
Start hugging more today. It will feel good, I promise. <3
